F.A.Q.

CAN BEGINNERS JOIN?

Absolutely. We have a range of SUP tuition courses that are pitched to match your levels of skill. Our SUP Yoga classes are slow and mindful with modifications to cater to each personal ability.

WHAT IF I’M NOT A STRONG SWIMMER?

No problem! You will be attached to your board the whole time, which acts as a giant buoyancy aid. Practising on the lake means you are never far from the shore. Additionally, all our teachers are certified with a water safety rescue award.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

You can expect board rental and a guided class / workshop by a certified instructor. Other than that, we encourage you to release all other expectations or anticipations and simply show up to enjoy yourself and this beautiful experience!

WHERE IS IT LOCATED?

We meet at the beautifully picturesque Mallards Pike Lake near the cafe. You will see the RED Paddle Board Co flags marking the meeting spot. Please note there is a fee for the car park and traffic wardens are active. There are toilets on site but not changing rooms so come dressed ready to get on the water if you can.

Please give yourself an extra 15 minutes to find us, sign in, and get ready. This is where we are.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Please be sure to bring a full water bottle and sunscreen on a hot day. If you want to wear sunglasses on the water we suggest attaching them to a strap. Valuables will need to be left in your vehicle. You will be supplied with a waterproof case for your car key.

The café is open through the summer months for refreshments, though this will depend on the class / workshop time that you attend. You can check opening times here: Cafe Open times

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We suggest wearing a comfortable bathing suit that you will feel supported in while moving around, with your choice of sports clothing over the top or a wetsuit. Please note that we do not supply wetsuits. A great rule of thumb is to practice a Sun Salutation, star jump or something similar in your outfit of choice to ensure all body parts stay put when moving!  If you wish to wear a hat or sunglasses to protect you from the elements, please make sure they will stay snug and secure.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD

We paddle in all weather, rain and shine, that's the beauty of being in the great outdoors! That being said in high winds your session may be postponed. In this instance you will be contacted via email and advised of a selection of alternative dates. Should none of these suit your needs a full refund will be given. So be sure to check your email the night before your session.
